I've seen some exciting examples of "Skatter" a new plugin that enables placing in numerous components of trees and other vegetation like grass in your sketchup models without overloading sketchup due to far to many faces bypassing sketchup and directly connecting to the shader program. In the presentation (Basecamp London) available on youtube ( ) is explained that thearender and some other render plugins facilitate Skatter. Advice was given to ask the developers of your favorite render plugin if they are considering to facilitate "Skatter". Alan, what do you think of "Skatter" & Lightup? :?:

We'll take a look and see what would be required.

Hi Adam, Any news on this? I bought the beta yesterday. And it's running great with V-Ray and Thea. I know it will be cpu hungry to render grass etc. realtime. You almost need an Unreal engine for that... But maybe you have some magic ingredients :-)
iMac i7 3,4GHz, 16GB RAM, OS X 10.11.2, Sketchup 2016 Pro, LightUp 4.6, V-Ray 2.0, Skatter
