Player Whishlist

Post by eyal » Sat Jan 15, 2011 12:31 am

Hi Adam

- Any news about IE embedding of the LU Player?

- Is it possible for the Player to have command-line switches so it can be used in a more elaborate way?
what i have in mind is simple overrides like:
\Sn (n=number of scene in the file to appear first)
\Aon and \Aoff (Animate at start on/off)
\Pon ,off, lock (Posteffect on, off and Lock Posteffect parameter)
\Lon,off,lock (same for Lighting)
\Con,off,lock (same for Collision)
\Hon, off (same for Help screen)
\F (Full screen)
\Wx,y,a,b (Window at x,y on desktop screen, size a,b)

the locks i mention above are because turning collision and lighting off may reveal some unfinished ends to clients,
and while this seems negligable - it sometimes isn't. and then the model might look wrong. :-(

- is it possible to have a system-variable set that will make the Player open the file with given
viewer coordinates and update them on exit, so we can get back to the same position in the file.

this method can also enable us to enter another scene in another file in the same coordinates,
making it possible to seemingly switch lights on and off - when actually it will be different lighting scenes of the same geometry.
this is something i need very much, not having the time to learn Unity just for this little effect i need.

hope this isn't crazy to ask :-)

Building the LightUp Safari browser plugin was a couple of days work. IExplorer plugins are a real pain though, so will take much longer.

What you ask for is quite a lot of work, so we may get there eventually but don't hold your breath. :-)

OK, i'll keep breathing for now.

what about FireFox plugin? is it less problematic?
or maybe it should be a cross-platform thing like Flash?
