Detailled flipbook instructions

Post by captain_ludo » Wed Feb 04, 2015 6:40 pm

Hello,

I wonder if it is possible to upload a more detailed tutorial on fonctionnemenr animated textures composed of a series of images "flipbook" where you have to name them ? Or put more details with some images in the page 13 of your instruction manual "GettingStarted.pdf"?

I tried to understand the forums and video on this and I can not understand it.

Yet another animated texture feature by using the properties of the texture "movie strips" is very easy to understand and realize (your example of the candle).

For your information, I'm deaf, I can not really listen to the voice explanation video.

Thank you for your help!

Greetings!

If you use set the texture of a material from an image file on your computer with a specific filename formatting, LightUp will attempt to read a sequence of similar images to create a "movie texture'.

The image file needs to have a filename of the form:

somename_frame0.{png|tga|jpg}

OR

somename_frame 00.{png|tga|jpg}

So if you set a SketchUp material texture to a file called:

/Users/lightup/mytexturename_frame0.jpg

LightUp will also search for:

/Users/lightup/mytexturename_frame1.jpg
/Users/lightup/mytexturename_frame2.jpg
/Users/lightup/mytexturename_frame3.jpg
