Keyframe animation compatibility

Post by Ecuadorian » Mon Dec 27, 2010 5:38 pm

I just found about about this most amazing animation plugin for SketchUp:
http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtop ... +animation
It seems to be the very best of all attempts at creating animation in SketchUp.

But I did a test and it doesn't work at all with LightUp. :?

Indeed Adam,
this "Keyframe Animation" plugin is a lot easier to use than "Proper Animation".
I wish and hope it is not too hard to add to the LU features. :)
Edit: Hum, mind you, stepping through each scene and rendering all one by one would yield "rendered tweens" and from there, it's easy to make a film, as you know.
I know LU can render each frame of a film, but does it render all scenes one by one yet ?

+1 on this; I am rapidly approaching a project that would greatly benefit from LU rendered object animation.

I have been experimenting with Proper Animation and Keyframe Animation; Keyframe lets you export animations straight from SU, which Proper doesn't. I had hoped this would mean that LU would work with Keyframe, but no dice.

Any updates on this being added to the LU functionality?

Cheers, and thanks, Chuck

Yes! This is fixed in development version - it will be in LightUp v2.0b - so you can setup Animations per Scene and they'll be honored while in Tourtool.

Nice ! :D
Furthermore, I think Batch processing scenes would still be a + cause then the shadows will follow the animated objects. no?

Can these animations be exported as video, too? :)

Hi Adam,

I'm trying out the trial keyframe animation, and want to know if it is compatible with Light Up.I would like to use the Light Up capture movie mode and have movement within the animation.

Regards,
mallen

I've just installed Keynote Animator 1.4.3 for Sketchup, and this doesnt seem to work with Lightup, even by creating "tweens". Am I doing something wrong?

Hi,

Yes it looks like a performance optimization in v2.2a has broken support for Keyframe animation..

However, LightUp v2.2b is out in a few days time which fixes this (and a few other minor wrinkles).
