BACKING TEXTURES
hello i'm french (excuz my bad english). I want to buy lightup, but for me i want another option in this software. I want to bake the result in my sketchup model. After i can export my 3D model in 3DS or OBJ with backing textures to another applications. If light up can do this, i buy it immediately !!!
in stand of an answer...

Re: BACKING TEXTURES
A future version of LightUp might do exports like this. It depends how much demand there is and what other functionality we can provide.

Re: BACKING TEXTURES
Does this mean that we actualy would be able to walk around the model using the SU tools and even export AVI files as normal ?

Re: BACKING TEXTURES
i don't want to make an AVI, i want to have my sketchup model textured with the result of the radiosity. After i can export my model in .3ds (model+texture backing) to open in 3D softaware, to create realtime scène.

Re: BACKING TEXTURES
Yes! This would be a killer feature. Bake the results of radiosity into textures such that I can export in SU to 3DS, OBJ, etc. with UVs and baked in lighting + shadows.

and whith SUBDO (free for sketchup pro) you can realize virtual walktrought, and export the result to an exe file. In subdo the tools for shadows is bad, and realtime shadows took more power. Bake the result on SketchUp model for export or just on sketchup simply, and light up is the most powerfull tools for "textures backing" lol

How much demand? A lot, I'd say...
Cheers,

Re: BACKING TEXTURES
+1 for a texture baking function.
This would definitely take Sketchup to another level.
