Panorama Software

Post by lightup123 » Sun Aug 19, 2012 11:43 pm

I use 360panorama ($0.99) on ipad 3 to create a panorama. Then I email (flat) an jpg attachment (900kb) to my desktop and load it as a skybox image (this one files only).

It shows nicely as a 360degree background in lightup. I can easily move 360 degree around. (But there is no top or bottom).

But I can't save a luca file for the player. Lightup 2.6a and 2.5c doesn't save a luca file, pressing Player .... There is no error message. Win7 64 bit. I tried several different directories.

LightUp accepts 2 types of skybox:

1. A set of 6 square images making up the faces of a box around your model.

2. A panorama that has been specially distorted to capture every direction (including up and down) into a single rectangular image. These are specially processed by LightUp to create the skybox. They look like this:

If you just use a regular panorama, you'll get distortions.

Which programs do you recommend to create the 6 square and the distorted images?
Is there an Iphone/ipad panorama program which can be used for the lightup source?

Probably easiest to download ready made panoramas. The a many sources of these

And of course you can export a skybox directly from LightUp which will be ready-to-use in LightUp.
