Web Player - limit the navigation to predefined Scenes

Post by Wall E » Mon Apr 30, 2012 9:59 am

Dear Adam,
We have installed the 'LU Web Player' plugin and it looks great.
I would only wish to see an 'Option' to limit the navigation to predefined Scenes + Reset.
Why?
I would like to show certain areas of my external / internal model without of showing the rest of the model.

For example:
If I model interiors I would like to contain the client's 'exploring' to the Interiors/Scenes only.

Any thoughts?
Regards
Gregory

Hi

When exporting .luca files, the guiding principle was to capture all the settings you've chosen for your model.

Only those Scenes marked to be included in the SketchUp animation will be animated in the .luca file.
[EDIT: and you will also need to check "In Animation" on the player export dialog]

Also, if you set the Camera Speed to 0.0 for your model and then export, your users of LightUp Player/WebPlayer will be able to look around but not move out of the location the Scene has placed them.

Lastly, there are some keyboard commands within Player/WebPlayer:

'r' - reset to initial location
'c' - toggle collision
'p' - toggle realtime post processing
'l' - change display modes: normal, lighting-only, textures-only

Thank you for the reply.

- 'Include in Animation' - works fine
- 'Camera Speed' - works fine
- Scenes selection/drop-down menu - brilliant

1. Is it any chance to disable the interaction of mouse with the model and limit the navigation to the selected Scenes only?
2. Is it possible to set the 'watermark' and URL to our choice?

1. I think thats called a Movie.

2. Yes, when exporting the .luca file, you can choose an image for the watermark and the URL.
The default is "LightUp for SketchUp" image and URL of http://light-up.co.uk

Dear Adam,

Thank you once again.
We manage to do the watermark and URL each time. Link to our 'Full Screen' test below.

The problem is that you have to set the values each time after you restart SU session - the watermark and URL settings are not saved with the file.

With regards to the web player it would be useful to have the 'Scenes Action Only' option available but if this is not possible we can live without it.
I can see that I'm asking almost for movie viewing type experience with one difference - you can jump between views like you do in SU.

PS. How to switch off the 'WELCOME' screen. We get two blank windows (welcome screen + web browser) because of our firewalls settings.

Fixed for v2.5b

The time to switch between Scenes is set in your SketchUp file. Looks like you have the default 2.0 seconds transition time.
Set it to 0.0 in menu Window->Model Info->Animation and re-export.

You may want to add this to your web server:

AddType application/x-lightup luca

..to tell it that it 'knows' about luca files.

I just tried to change the watermark logo and the link.
I followed the procedure but the player still show the lightup logo and is linked to the lightup web page.
Am I missing something?

Yes, you're loading the wrong .luca into your player. Check carefully where you're exporting the .luca file to and ensure this is the one you're loading into Player.

So things to check are:

- that you're using a watermark of not more than 512x512 pixels in size.
- that your URL is well-formed; http://domain_name/xyz NB You must specify the scheme handler "http://"
