2016 sketchup and Lightup

Post by katie32 » Tue May 03, 2016 7:25 pm

I used light up for sketch up pro 2015 and I'm wondering how to get it to pop up on my tool bar now that I've updated to sketch up pro 2016.

Thanks!

We have recently switched to using the Sketchup built-in installer (.rbz files).

So to install for SKetchUp 2016:

- Launch SketchUp
- Preferences->Extensions
- Click on "Install Extension.." and choose the .rbz file you downloaded.

If you get a Sketchup error "cannot install for some unknown reason", it means an old version of LightUp is already installed and you will need to remove it first.

You can remove LightUp by Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs and/or simply deleting the files in:

{HOME FOLDER}/AppData/Roaming/Sketchup/SketchUp 2016/Sketchup/Plugins

Remove:
folder "lightup"
file "lightup.rb"

NB This "AppData" folder is hidden by Windows, so you can reveal it by typing in the lower left corner of the desktop:

%appdata%

Which will open a File Explorer window on the hidden AppData folder, which you can navigate to the Sketchup Plugins folder.
